Water Quality
|
E&S Environmental Chemistry, Inc. provides a variety of water quality services including:
-
Analysis of land use effects on surface water quality
- Pollutant load analysis combining water quality monitoring data and GIS analysis to model existing conditions and evaluate the potential effects of land use changes on water quality.
-
Nonpoint source pollution assessment
- Identification and analysis of nonpoint source pollution contribution, including estimation of pollution loading by means of sampling, laboratory analysis, landscape analysis,
statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
|
|
-
Source identification of water contamination - Targeted water sampling combined with remote techniques such as aerial photography
or infrared analysis.
-
Time trend analysis - Determination of statistically-significant trends in water quality, allowing for adjustments in response to seasonality and climatic variation.
-
Water chemistry data interpretation - Expert interpretation of water quality data, including acid-base chemistry, nutrients, suspended solids, bacteria, and trace contaminants.
-
Monitoring design - Statistically-based water quality sampling designs suitable for efficient allocation of samples, yet robust enough to detect change.
-
Flow and
water quality instrumentation - Installation of automated water quality data collection devices, including equipment for measuring discharge, temperature, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, and other parameters.
-
Data quality audits - Independent review and appraisal of laboratory performance of water quality analyses, including computation of detection limits, precision, bias, and contamination of samples.
The following are some of the water quality projects that E&S Environmental has conducted:
|
|
-
Water quality modeling for lakes in Mount
Rainier, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, and Sequoia National Parks
-
Water quality of Tillamook, Wilson, Trask, and Kilchis rivers in the Tillamook Bay Watershed (fecal coliform bacteria, total suspended solids, nutrients).
-
Water quality reconnaissance of North Fork Reservoir and the Clackamas River, Oregon.
-
Water quality and biota of the lower Deschutes River, Oregon.
-
North Umpqua River water quality and paleolimnological analysis.
-
Relationships between water quality, landscape characteristics and historical land use in lake watersheds within the Adirondack Mountain region of New York.
-
Water quality modeling for streams throughout the Southern Appalachian Mountains region.
